Hi folks, with a lot of help from Doug, I've priced out 6 or 8 other
skate rinks for us to play broomball at.
I have reserved 2 dates in April at Norwalk Ice Arena, both from
10-11 P.M. They're at 14100 S Shoemaker Ave, Norwalk CA 90650. You
can map it out and see how far it is from you. It is about 2-1/2
times farther away for me, but it's not about me, it's about the game ;-)
I will wait to see how many of you still want to play broomball and
how many make it to Norwalk before I commit to regular
every-other-week games there. There was another place in Anaheim but
they wouldn't come down on their price to match what Skate Zone
offered me. Maybe when I tell them we went somewhere else, they'll
come down a little more. Every other place was $55 to $85 more per hour.
And prepare mentally to arrive early and to play only 60 minutes.
Skate Zone was very, very good to us for a long time, letting us run
30-60 minutes long, for free, when there wasn't a 2nd group. Maybe if
we get a surge of new people, we can afford to book a longer session,
and maybe if and when we become regulars we can negotiate a little
bit (2 hours is $370!).
If anyone has been there before, please speak up and tell us what the
place is like, I'm dying to know.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Remember, March 24- last game at Skate Zone.
April 7 and April 21, 10-11 P.M. at Norwalk Ice Arena.
Thanks,
Kevin
