I read through the forums on the official site after reading this, and based on Ron's comments, I hope it is that she is pregnant (which is a good thing) rather than something being wrong (illness, etc.) with her family.

Hopefully, all works out for her and she returns soon.

As for Dean, I got the impression he was only missing a couple shows, not an extended leave?
