I remember hearing that the Bates' Motel keyboard player (les?) was outed in
the early 80's, mainly because he liked to drink, and the maels' did not.
I'm sure there was more to it than that, but it's a subject I have always
thought about in the context of pop music. I've noticed that most bands I
like to listen to have a laissez-faire attitude about alcohol and drugs, and
consequently not only don't preach about their "evils", they rarely mention
them. I didn't even think of "Tits", which is a drinking song, of sorts.
If they didn't inhale, then I might lose respect for them. Kinda like a
president I could name.
