I am sure the genuine fans will be buying it anyway if it does come out on
DVD. I know I definitely will.

What I do object to is downloading and distributing for profit (not Ron and
Russell's). After all, it is their livelihood. I am sure a true fan
wouldn't dream of doing so an underhand thing.

Hello Sue and Robert,

Sue, it would be a shame if this old downloading / copying chestnut is
allowed to damage people's enjoyment of Sparks, please don't let that
happen.

Robert, the morality is one thing. The legality is a fact and in the UK
the fact is that it's a breach of copyright. AFAIK the 1998 EU
Copyright directive has now been enacted in all EU states except France.

Speaking personally, most people who enjoy music, including myself, own
a number of items that strictly are in breach of copyright, because
they're unobtainable otherwise and we're fans! But if you talk to
musicians, writers, and actors on this topic, you'll find there are a
fair number who have strong opinions that they want to maintain control
of their work, and don't want people copying it. You definitely have to
respect that side of the argument also.

Steve
