Absolutely!
I loved it all just as much as last time round. One lesson I did learn:
headbanging when the guitars kick in on Waterproof is not a good idea
when you are wearing glasses. At least Here Kitty gave me a bit of time
to recover.
The second half was wonderful. Two minor complaints: in 9 times of
seeing the guys, I have never seen them do At Home At Work At Play.
Please guys, pretty please... And nothing off Balls again. Oh, the
problems of having a 30-year, 20-album career!
But they did do several I have not seen done live before, including
Achoo, Tryouts for the Human Race and Part 2 of Number 1 Song In Heaven.
Plus one song that Russell can claim credit for writing: Pineapple! And
we had the chill-out finish with Change once again. First time I saw
that, I was surprised at them ending a concert on such a downbeat note,
but it just works. Trust Sparks to break all the rules and come good.
Except there was one final surprise up their sleeves. After the BBC
debacle this week, they promised they would play Dick Around twice at
the Forum. And they did - a fantastic sort-of-acoustic reworking of it
finished off the evening.
Brilliant as usual guys. Now I just hope I can get my voice back by
tomorrow.
