[Mael-list] Sparks reissues

Hey Gary,

You took the words right out of my mouth... Why should I have to buy the new release when they could have just issued the previously unreleased material as a new CD? At least that way I would not be being penalized for having the original CD! Sorry, but this just tends to force those of us who have been Sparks fans for the last 30+ years to open up our wallets again. As they are marketing to such a small audience, at least M&M could do is issue albums, (CD's) of just previously unreleased material, like all the stuff they said they had that did not go on Balls, etc... I can understand that Universal might own the publishing rights to that previous material, but at some point a Sparks Die Hard Fan should get an even break...

If I think of how many fans claim to have bought all 4 different copies of Balls, just to have them, or people who buy the UK version of an Album, because it comes out first, then buys the US version a year later, I just feel Used. We all know that there is a small, die hard fan base for R&R. We are it! At some point, perhaps the Mael Brothers will realize that we are the only reason they have endured and then, maybe they will come to truly appreciate Us for who we are.....

Thanks,

Bernie

Before someone tilts towards an analogy of the re-issue of the Beach Boys, Surfs Up Album, Don't!
Anyone who knows the story, knows why they cut out and replaced the original track. They wrote about Girls, Cars, Surfing and Girls! There was no reason for Mike Love's politics to get reissued since it did not fit into that four topic formula....
