Hmmmmm!  This would imply it was a local BBC London ban then ( unless the Stoke incident so outraged the locals that they petitioned the BBC afterwards.)
 
The London station is normally quite up-front about stuff - I would have definitely thought more so (with all due respect)  than Radio Stoke.
 
Have mailed the station - let's see what they say.  (If anything!)   yourlondon at bbc.co.uk      
 
What were they thinking, what could they have been thinking!
