Echoes my feelings almost exactly.
I was thinking about Cambridge, but didn't book a ticket yet - would be
my first time at the Corn Exchange since I was a student (a long time
ago...), so it's quite tempting.
Regarding the "banned" controversy - are we sure of the facts? Might
have to be carefully handled to avoid coming across as having a "status
quo moment."

How interesting! I thought I was being over critical, but yes, it was
odd.
Dick Around was truncated and then This Town ... again?!!! Why??? The
muddly
didn't work and neither tune was shown to best advantage. The sound was
raw, but admittedly better than many bands I've seen on the programme.
I
found the new drummer and guitarist did not sit well in the music. The
drumming on TTABE particularly was rather one-dimensional. I put it
down to
being new boys, but then again I wasn't sure how much was real and live.
Light and shade, guys, light and shade ... please.
Sparks have just released the best album of their long career and this
was
not brilliant promotion. It was just a tv appearance, with Jonathan
Ross on
particularly crude and irritating form.
Only going to Cambridge this time. Shall I see anyone else there?
Regards,
derek
