[Mael-list] Waterproof/Dick Around

I initially was not so sure about Dick Around but have to admit since
its single release its really grown on me and I now love it.

Maels obviously are rightly proud of it and thus I think wanted its
release as a single for the world to see.

Problem is that it is not the sort of thing that radio will (sadly)
ever play and thus I think it was wrong choice of single. Yes I know
its meant to be an "AA" single but has anyone heard any plugs for
Waterproof?

I think single might have faired better had its been Waterproof alone
as that seems to me perfect radio material especially (in the UK)
perfect radio 2 material and would fit very snugly into Terry Wogan's
playlists.

Having said that bigger problem is that UK radio just don't play
Sparks enough and thus maybe Waterproof would have faired no better on
its own.

We'll never know but when it comes to Sparks life aint fair - but
nearly everyone I have ever tried to introduce them to listens and
looks at me blankly and wonders how not to hurt my feelings.

Think its one of those things you either get or you don't - and sadly
most don't. Happily enough of us nutters do to still make Ron and Russ
more money than I'll ever see and that at least allows them to
continue to make music for those of us lucky enough to get it.

So life could be worse
