That's exactly the sort of information I was looking
for - thanks a lot for the link. Fascinating indeed!
Thanks also for the link to the article about "One and
a Half Nelson" - I can now see that what I have
acquired is a copy of the CD version. Interesting
stuff.

I didn't realise that the respective ages of the Mael
brothers was the subject of speculation - I thought
the facts were in the public domain. I've always
assumed that the dates given in the sleeve notes of
"Mael Intuition" (the first Sparks CD I ever bought) -
1948 for Ron and 1953 for Russ - were right. Certainly
they sound about right to me, give or take a year.

If Russ was born in 1953, I guess that just about adds
up then. If the demos were recorded in 1968, Ron would
have been 19 or 20 and Russ would have been 14 or 15
and would have either just left school or would very
soon do so. Not that any of this matters but it's
interesting to see when the Maels first started to use
their talents.
