[Mael-list] Need some Sparks CD?

Please, it's not about what you have bought or not. For the record I've bought everything Sparks-ish, I started way back in 1974. The problem is, that by torrenting, file sharing, you let other people get the stuff for free. You're a fence, in a way. Now you get it, perhaps? And, yes, I work with music and yes, I report to the IFPI when the need arises.

But I would recommend you to use sites like archive.org where there is a lot of music for free, where the artists have said that it's ok to up- and download live material. That's the way to go - and for the artist, like PG and RF as I mentioned, to try to make a buck/penny on us fans by giving us more than the regular fare, not by selling sweatshirts with logos but rather live music on limited edition CDs.

    Yup - 1Mb/s is the best speed I can get in my area - which is pathetic!

    It says I have another 4 days to go (although it peaked at 25 days a few minutes ago!!!)

    Yes the work 100%.

    VLC will play them, but you will have to wait for the WHOLE torrent to finish....

    (you must have a slow internet connection....  )

    OK - Thanks.

    Have started downloading it (BUT - I also have 99% of it already on vinyl and CDs so I am NOT stealing it!) but Windows Media Player and Winamp are having problems playing the files (WMP doesn't recognise mp3 files (!!) or the codec used to compress the files and Winamp just doesn't do anything.)

    I have also tried VLC player which played ½ of Beaver O'Lindy (great to hear that again!) before stopping.

    Q: Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone managed to successfully download these and play them OK? OR - do I need to wait until the WHOLE torrent has finished downloading in approximately 5 days time (!) before I can play them?

    You can open the torrent without hazard and see what's listed for yourself; it's pretty comprehensively all the studio albums plus French Pineapple, Heaven and Hell etc
