[Mael-list] A Right Kerfuffle

Oh what a Kerfuffle the torrent debate has started.

>From a fact point of view file sharing of copyright material is
illegal and therefore if you want the Album/CD go out and buy it. Whoah
- please don't stop reading I'm not about to get the horse whip out

The difficulty for 'fans' is that some material is not commercially
available, however the completest nature of following a group means
that one wants to own all of their output, good or bad.

The really sad thing about Sparks is that some of the unreleased
material is actually somewhere between great and fantastic and
therefore not having access to it is a real shame. One of my and my
wifes favourite pieces of Sparks music is 'It looks great on you' which
someone gave me on a home made CD a while back.

This and the other Mai tracks are so absolutely fantastic I would love
to own them on a properly manufactured CD with a full colour sleeve and
price point to match but unfortunately I and all the other people who
would want to cannot buy them...nor can I buy the woofer demos, the
kimono demos, Katherine Hepburn, bad manner soundtrack, Knock off
soundtrack etc, etc, etc

It would be really nice ( and profitable) if R&R could see some way of
releasing these tracks to the fan base through the website ( a common
occurence with many other groups) I would gladly purchase the official
version, be it through mp3 download or physical CD.

In conclusion, no I don't want to get access to music illegally,
however if it is the ONLY way to access something then I'm torn between
what's morally right and what is artistically tragic.

A right Kerfuffle
