Not it's NOT any different. You just can't have it both ways. It's the old
record industry
paranoia that "home taping is killing music" started way back in the '70's.
Well DID it
kill music? Seems to be doing OK. You can't make the illogical jump that
downloading a torrent
will lead to the same person breaking into your apartment and stealing your
computer.

However it is a FINE point that if the materials were available to us from
the band for
profit we would ALL buy it. If not we'll get it anyway. By the way, how's
your official
copy of "Live at The Key Club?"

I've worked in this business too. Record companies send free promo copies to
radio and
television stations, who instead of playing it, race down to the 2nd hand
record shop
to sell it. A penniless kid from Hungary finds out about Sparks and becomes a
huge fan
buy downloading a torrent, and the Sparks fanbase spreads because of file
sharing.

I think there are many ways to view the same activity. It just gets me when
paranoid
record companies and artists cry "CRIMINAL! CRIMINAL" at the first chance
they get.
Sparks should be happy their music is getting out. I think it keeps their
banner alive
and leads only to future profits for them.

My humble opinion.
