John Aizlewood write of Exotic Creatures:

The most startling aspect of the brothers Mael is not how often, but how successfully they've reinvented themselves without misplacing their calling cards: elegiac and wry lyrics; durable tunes and unbridled adventurism. Here, they're in fine fettle. Good Morning picks over a one-night stand ("I hope it's just your laugh that is infectious"); Let The Monkey Drive may be literal; Lighten Up Morrissey will hopefully annoy the man himself, while Photoshop and Likeable are laments over unrequited, unconsummated passion. International Treasures.

Star rating: 4/5 'Q' recommends!
