[Mael-list] A sorta big surprise

Having an excellent CD version of "Introducing Sparks" already thanks to a kind mael-lister (you know who you are, and thank you again), his CD burner, and his turntable, it took me until now to purchase an official copy of the CD, which arrived today.  I bought the Russell cover for no particular reason, and it's a nice little package.  But one side of the cardboard sleeve is Russell, the other is Ron, and the jewel case inside seems to then have Ron in what would be the front cover and Russell in back.  Either way, what's the real difference between Russell and Ron covers, particularly when a reversable cardboard sleeve fits over the jewel case?  I'm glad I didn't fall for buying both.  There's less difference than in having two cpies of "Balls" in different colors.  Lest I forget: love the music.
   
  Another very kind mael-lister managed to make a copy of the concert portions of the PAL versio Dee Vee Dee for me in a format playable on my NTSC player.  (You also know who you are, and thank you, too!)  She told me it did not convert well and the quality is very poor, but on my player, the video and sound are in fact quite excellent.  It's an excellent show, and a lot of fun, and Russell particularly is in great form and enjoying himself as he did when I saw the group do HYL in L.A.  Unfortunately Tammy's gone by this time, replaced by a young guy clearly having a wonderful time, and Dean is missing, but in any case, the other band members are no more than shadowy figures who rarely are found by the camera, and that's a shame.  I also recall Will's comment about Rock Rock Rock opening the DVD and being out of sequence, and it is indeed odd, though for me, that surprisingly doesn't create any real injury to the mood and momentum of the concert.  Quite great stuff, and
 having now been almost 2 years since the band played here, it really whets my appetite to see them again and hear the new music that will be unveiled in May.
   
  I hope the guy looking for reviews for his webzine gets takers and wish I could be there to assist.
