[Mael-list] A RAINBOW OVER THE FREEWAY

OK, I have only played the album once so far as I - unfortunately - found it
far too "samey" most of the way through (far too many drum machines!), with
at least one track I can't ever listen too again as it is so truly awful..
rather than get a beating I won't name names. (And, before anyone starts,
No, I couldn't do better..)

Derek's track is certainly v.good, Angus Desire is v.nicely done, and I love
Not Nastasia by Big Feat, but where oh where is the track that I bought it
for - Girl From Germany by Big Feat........ I fell in love with that on the
MySpace site and must have played it hundreds of times.. You can probably
hear it playing in the background as I am typing this... IT IS FANTASTIC.

Is there somewhere else I can get this please?

(If anyone on this list HASN'T bought the album yet, don't let my
ill-informed review put you off. There are certainly some stand-out tracks,
it is a Sparks tribute, and above all, it's for a good cause. Three good
reasons to order it today.)

I have a copy of this CD and it's great. I would urge you all to buy it,
partly because it's all for a good cause but equally because it has some
fantastic new takes on Sparks songs, from a Streets-style At Home At Work At
Play to an oompah version of Here in Heaven (no really, it works).

Derek's version of Frankly Scarlett is really interesting and manages to
make me like a song I've never been that keen on (though I still think I
prefer his sardonic tongue-in-cheek version of Girl from Germany:))
