>From pencil-inflicted hand injuries, to moving speedboat filming - 10 things you may or may not know about Russell Mael.
Page 86 of this week's London 'Time Out' reveals the following: (with expanded information on each)
1 Russell and his brother Ron once claimed to be Doris Day's sons
2 He still bears a childhood wound inflicted by Ron
3 As a child he modelled catalogue clothes
4 He once lived in Beckenham
5 He was an ace football player at high school
6 Along with the rest of Sparks, Russell had a cameo role in 'Rollercoaster'
7 For the sleeve of Propaganda, Russell and Ron were photographed in a moving speedboat
8 For Sparks debut gigs, Russell was wheeled on stage in a tiny ship
9 Morrissey is a massive fan
10 Pre-Sparks, they were called Halfnelson
Nothing earth-shattering for those 'in the know' - but good to see the profile being raised.
Methinks the media onslaught in advance of May/June may have begun! There's the odd plug thrown in there aswell:)
John
