John, what is the name of and where is the pub you want us to meet at 3PM? I looked on the forum but didn't find
any info about a get-together. Where on the forum is it?
I booked a hotel near the club for the first 3 nights, but have to find something cheaper!
That loan I took out for the trip - almost gone! (Dentist, car repair, taxes!)
Look forward to seeing you all.
BTW do we know if their playing the albums in the order they appear on the records?

Good evening all!
I was going to arrange a couple of mini 'O-Ramas' on the Sunday afternoons before both Kimono and No. 1 in Heaven gigs - at a pub on Upper St close to the venue.
But it looks as if someone has beaten me to it! This has appeared on the Forum at Allsparks - and I can see no point in trying to compete!
While I am sure we will all still meet before many of the gigs, can I suggest that for those that are interested, the 2 larger events still go ahead on the Kimono and No.1 afternoons?
I will chat with Lorinda at the pub to ensure we can put up some promotional material to give the event a special 'feel' - and those who want to, can spend a little more time with other Sparks fans than they might normally.
I'll try and sort out some other stuff to make these afternoons special - so unless I post to the contrary, look forward to seeing everyone at say 3pm each Sunday afternoon?

Hope that's ok for everyone.

As a local Sparks fan to the N1 centre where the
concerts are being held I've had a little scout around our local
landlords to find the best meeting up place for any fans that want to
get together before any of the gigs.
If anybody has any other ideas then please put forward but I've
been to see the lovely landlady Lorinda of the "Edward VI" pub in
Islington which is half a minutes walk to the entrance of the Carling
Academy.
The "Edward VI" is near the Hilton Hotel which is where I guess
the guys will be staying for the duration of the tour as it is walking
distance to the venue. (but don't quote me)
Upstairs (ain't that a tune somewhere?)...of the "Edward VI" is a
private bar room area which will be allocated as a Sparks Pre Gig
meeting place.
I suggested as from 6pm on any of the nights until the shows
starts that anyone who wants to get in the swing (done it
again)...before the show could meet up there. She's up for playing
Sparks tunes too so we will be musically happy bunnies. Draught beers
would have to be bought downstairs but bottled beers, wine and spirits
are all available upstairs.
The address for the bar is : 25, Bromfield Street, Islington, N1 oPZ.
"Edward VI" is a gay bar so please respect the clientelle in the
main bar area. Sparks do have a massive gay following so I'm sure many
will know the pub already. It also boasts a very nice garden area as
well but that would be away from the Sparks tunes upstairs. You never
know, we might get a Mael pop in for a drink before the concert....
Islington is full of bars so people can always make their own
arrangements for pre gig meeting of course and the Carling Academy does
also have a bar inside the venue as well so some people might just
choose to use the actual venue as a meeting place instead. At least
with the "Edward VI" we have an alternative. Hope to see you all there.
