[Mael-list] Sparks story

There seem to be several distinct 'generations' of Sparks fans. The
rare few who knew them pre-Kimono, mainly due to Todd Rundgren I
think (Ella, Derek); a whole lot of 50-ish fans that discovered them
on Don Kirschner's Rock Concert or one of the other late night rock
tv shows of the mid-70's; a lot of (primarily) Americans who
discovered them when they were played on Rodney on the ROQ and doing
lots of gigs in LA; and a fourth group we've not heard from yet-
those people (mostly in England I think) that picked up on them with
the career resurrecting GSSV. We also haven't heard from any people
in France that picked up on When I'm With You. : )
I've done my part in perpetuating Sparks- not sure what it will do
for her in the future but I have been indoctrinating a 15 year old
with Sparks since she was 5- she loves them and all her friends are
fans too.
This may sound superficial (perhaps less so since I'm posting this to
the Mael-list), but I could never be with a woman who didn't like (or
at least tolerate) Sparks, and Arsenal FC. Fortunately the mother of
the aforementioned 15 year old likes Sparks, and loves some of their
songs (all over their career, but her personal favourite album is
GSSV, and song Number One Song in Heaven- the kid loves HYL).
