OK OK OK, it's been awhile...
Wow, I think its been over 4 or 5 years since I've posted lol, as a matter of fact, I think one of my last posts was about a Jetta commercial and wondering if the tune in the ad was Oasis, though I was kidding, I did get a soap box reply to the thread from Ned and a number of dumb e-mails sent my way, it was great, lol.
Anyway, listening to the new song, "Lyla", at least a good 15-20 times while working around the house, I realized I liked the song, but also thought, this is not the Oasis I was brought up with. In the beginning they were simple and then near and past Be Here Now, [Which I love as my favorite album] they started to get complex I believe. I think they're finally being simple again. Now, I haven't heard the other tracks but this new song just hits me as a simple tune that takes a few listens too, to get into. I love it now, but at first I really did hate it. Now it's hypnotized in my mind and I can't get it out.
I love the cover work for the new single, I think it's very Oasis. Not showing much of who they are or what the song could be about, but that's Oasis. They're not into fads, not into what is supposed to be selling at the time, not into the glitter of Hollywood or what is hot. They do what they do and do it well. And that's one thing I like about them. They're followers to no one but the Beatles and in a way that's fine with me, cause the beatles are great. (Though Oasis does rock better on my CD player than the beatles ever could for my taste).
The video for "Lyla", I'll tell you truthfully, I've seen it once so far. And I think it reminds me of that one band, the beatles, for some reason, lol. Some one please tell me why I think of the beatles when I see all the weird lights and effects while that girl is in that drug enhanced state, lol.
Anyway, the video was great.
Though the girl that was in the video did over-act a few times, Oasis... were cool as ever. Period.
Supersonically Aaron
