I like Mucky Fingers and Lyla :)

Well, as they say, you can’t please everyone. This, I
feel, is especially true for a band that just released
its 6th album.

I’m willing to bet that most of us hopped on the Oasis
bandwagon in 94-96. At that time, Oasis had one sound
and one identity, and you either loved them, or hated
them.

Then, as time passed and we all started worrying about
our livers, things changed with Oasis. New band
members, new life experiences, new wives, new drugs,
no drugs, kids and, as a result, new sounds.

And here we are in 2005. Some love DBTT, others hate
it, many are completely indifferent. Same with HC and
SOTSOG. On the Official forum, scraps pop up over
what’s good and what’s crap. I’ve heard people praise
Let’s All Make Believe like it’s Live Forever. It
makes others vomit. Same with Little By Little, Mucky
Fingers, and so on.

So where am I going with this? ... Can’t remember.
But I will say this – I think it’s perfectly normal to
see so many of us divided over the new album and the
new songs. A lot has changed.

That said, I hope we’re all united on the rainbow
lyric. Yikes!

Here’s my 4-point review of the new album.

1 – Part of the Queue and The Importance of Being Idle
are (potentially) as good as anything Noel’s every
written. Everything’s right – lyrics, tune,
production, etc.

2 – Liam shouldn’t (can't?) write lyrics.

3 – Andy’s songs are bloated.

4 – Gem’s contribution is terrific. Love it.

That’s how I feel today.
